What is a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Visa?

The Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Visa enables business people who are non-EEA citizens the opportunity to operate a business within the UK, bring dependents with them, and potentially work towards permanent residence.

What is the Genuine Test?

The Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Visa Genuine Test is designed to establish whether an applicant is capable and genuinely intends to set up and run a business in the UK.

The business plan is now a compulsory part of the application for a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) Visa and is key to passing the Genuine Test.

We will ensure your business plan includes all the information required by the Home Office, including:

  • How the investment of £50,000 or £200,000 will be spent in the overall running of the business
  • Details of the 2 types of employees you will need to run the business effectively (employing a minimum of 2 ‘settled’ people for at least 1 year each is a key requirement of the Genuine Test)
  • Information demonstrating your understanding of the market, your competitors and target customers
